BMW 2002 Turbo 1974

I imported this car from Italy 5 years ago and have had all of the mechanical work done by Jaymic during that time. This includes a complete engine rebuild (one of the pistons was chipped and had scored the cylinder so they had to be re-bored), a new KKK turbocharger and overhauled fuel pump/warm-up regulator, new injectors, new exhaust manifold, coil etc etc. I also had a new core put in the original radiator two years ago.

The front 4 pot callipers are both brand new and were the last new ones that BMW supplied. I also replaced a whining differential with one from a broken turbo from Holland. When I first bought the car I gave it to Jaymic to replace the headcover and remove the radio speakers from under the back seats.These were repositioned on the rear parcel shelf and I put in an original 1970 Becker Mexico full stereo cassette player which I sourced from a specialist radio supplier in Berlin. Jaymic also fitted new carpets throughout and in the boot and resprayed the red console.

The car came with Italian after market alloys which were only made for the BMW 2002 in Italy and  will sell these with the car if interested. I replaced them with the original steels imported from Holland which I had sanded and repainted.

2002 Tii. 1974. 4 speed in Chamonix White. Very reliable, starts first time on the button with eleven months MOT and five months tax. Lot's of receipts, no expense spared with recent total overhaul of cooling system: water pump, radiator, thermostat, all rubber hoses, run's beautifully and will not overheat. I've also had the fuel system overhauled with a brand new tank and fuel pump. Lot's more work including full brake system replacement and service, original air filter fitted and lot's more, she's mechanically excellent. The engine was rebuilt by Jaymic a decade ago and as a result only has 34452 on the clock. They also undertook a some restration to the bodywork which is all photographically documented. The car also has a full Webasto sunroof in perfect working order and a great sound system with a MP3 ready panasonic stereo. The inside is all very tidy and together. This car looks great, is fun to drive, always attracts attention and can be viewed in North London. £4900

2000 Touring. '72 fjord blue (Tax exempt) This car has had one previous owner and was purchased by myself just under 3 years ago, when it was recommissioned for use. It has never let me down in this time and is what I consider to be a very usable classic. Although not perfect by any means it would make a great inroad into '02 ownership or as a daily driver for an existing owner.
The car mechanically is very good, starts first time even after a two week holiday. It flew through its last MOT (which was in January) without even any advisory notes. The running costs are minimal. Fully comp insurance is the biggest outgoing , which is for me £120 a year. the car also has a towbar fitted. The not so great points about the car are the front wings which are rusting slightly, although these certainly aren't falling apart. Also the drivers seat has worn through.
My reason for selling is, although I would love to keep it, motor racing takes up all my time and I can't dedicate enough to the BMW to do it justice.

Mileage from April 2008 MOT = 1615 miles- but since change of engine in 1993 and problems with speedometer/odometer- final replacement in 2000 I have calculated the mileage done since new engine as being no more than 5350 miles. There is some  documentary evidence to support this.

RE: MILEAGE:
The vehicle has rarely been out of the garage over the last few years- only taxed  May- Oct - for summer months- some years and last 18 months not out at all. The MOT for Oct. 2000 shows 00370 miles and it has only travelled 440  miles since July 2003.

2002 Very original round light motor vehicle that has only covered 66,000 miles in its lifetime. This Vehicle comes with all Mot's to verify the correct mileage and some service. Inside this 2002 you will find a wonderful clean interior with only one minor crack to the dash. Although this is a very clean useable car, I must be honest and say that some of mechanical parts are the original, hence, the suspension is tired, brakes  are a bit soft, clutch is high and thrust bearing is noticeable. 2002 BAUR CONVERTIBLE 1973. Excellent example of this rare 2002. This Baur Targa Top convertible is in fantastic condition for its age, and has been well looked after. Ground up rebuild (including engine) by JAYMIC approx 15 yrs ago. Plenty of bills and photographic record of rebuild. Body in very sound state with no major rust or dings. All sills and floor pans are solid and show no signs of corrosion. Jacking points all good. Overall in very good condition. BBS alloys (steels as well) including spare. Fabric roof has no wear, and original steel roof section is in great nick. Interior could do with a bit of attention as upholstery is worn in places (drivers seat).

Engine runs really well, and hasn’t needed any work in last 8 years (since I owned it). Only major job done over last few years is new rear diff and new brake servos. Drives better than most cars half its age, and offers very entertaining, great value, soft top motoring.

2002 Saloon. Dec 1972. Original 2 litre engine with four speed manual transmission. Right Hand Drive with the more attractive circular rear light units and earlier styling details. Chamonix White with dark blue vinyl interior (seats/door panels). This car was originally sold and registered in London to a Mr Tobias and has had four owners since. The original owners folder, owners manual, warranty and so on comes with the car. The interior is in fabulous condition and has had replacents carpets. There is one smal crack on the dashtop near the instrument pod. The headlining is absolutely lovely. The heater works as it should and there are major no faults which spring to mind.
This car was given a restoration in 2004 at which time it had new front wings, front panel and many other parts along with having new paintwork.The costs totalled £6500 with a BMW specialist.
It has a few minor pecadillos, but nothing you'd expect not to find on a more expensive car of the same vintage.
The only things which you would perhaps need to be addressed are three 'spiders' which are under the paintwork on the leading edge near the beltline trim on the very front of the bonnet and a small repair to the lip of the passenger side rear wheel arch. This 2002 is to standard specification without any performance or, body modifications. Thankfully it has not been fitted with glass pop up sunroof! It has just been serviced, with parts from Jaymic BMW specialists, after a sojourn from use from 2005 until recently, and is under the Historic Vehicle taxation class - so is road tax exempt.
The under bonnet and rear boot areas are both in tremendous condition, as is the underside of the car. Price includes original registration number which could be sold on to make this a very cheap car indeed (although it's nicer to keep the original number on in my opinion.).
In summation, this is a lovely car which is an honest 7.5 out of 10 overall, as the supporting photographs should show; and please bear in mind I am very picky! I am looking for what I consider to be a very fair price of £3360 and feel that represents better value than any other 2002 I have seen on the market today (no offence to owners of other 2002s currently for sale).
I have given the best description I can, and tried to mention everything, but if you are interested you are welcome to view the car which is situated near Guildford, Surrey to see if it meets with your expectations.
You may notice that a new JVC compact disc player is fitted which, I realise, detracts for the originality, but the correct Blaupunkt push button radio comes with car should you wish to listen to desert island discs or the shipping forecast. 2002 1974. Black with a full length Webasto sunroof. This car is in good all round condition and is kept garaged when not in use. When looking for the car, this was the best I came across not asking for silly sums of money.
I have just had the a new M.O.T on the car and despite a break adjustment and a problem with the drivers seat (now fixed) it went through without a hitch. Obviously this car is not new, so there are the odd areas that if looked at would make the car in tiptop condition. I have all the orginal documentation with the car and the details from the London garage HR Owen who imported it from Germany. It has not been altered in anyway, inside or out; it has the orginal paint and the original interior (perhaps a bit tatty but the original nontheless/apart from a cd player). In addition, it was also featured in an edition of Classic Car Mart a year or so back- if nothing else, a lovely record of the car and its history.

I am genuinely reluctant to sell this car, but unfortunately i have moved house and no longer have the space to keep it.

2002 Lux 1974 I am reluctantly selling my 2002 as I am now living in London and no longer have any use for it. I have owned this beautiful car for approximately 14 months and have had no major problems with it. It was originally a 1602 Lux but previous owners have added a 2 litre engine to it. This has all been legally done and the DVLA are fully aware. Due to this modification it now runs on unleaded petrol and has a set of five gears, which allows you to cruise comfortably on the motorway. The car is a Lux addition which means it has tinted windows and real wood panel interior. I have also added a Thatcham Category 1 alarm which will help to bring the insurance down a little more! The paint work is in great condition but does suffer from a few small patches of rust where it is starting bubble, on both rear wheel arches and at very front of the bonnet. The interior is in great condition for its age and has no rips or tears in it. However the drivers seat has frayed over time. It has 11 months MOT and I will put a six month tax on it once you purchase it. She is a good runner and after 5 minutes of choke runs well.

As I have said I am now living in London, but the 2002 is at my parent’s friends house in Oxford, where viewing won’t be a problem. I have truly enjoyed owning this car and only sell her with a heavy heart. She is a joy to drive and is a true practical classic. Tom White on 07817 958597

2002 Saloon Red with black interior. This car is in the early stages of restoration as can clearly be seen from the photograph. The mileage reading on the speedo is 97,063 but the owner thinks it has probably been round the clock and is therefore 197,063. The car was first registered in January 1973 and comes with the E12 engine on the same number. The car has vinyl seats with the headrests, clear glass and a heated rear screen. The gearbox is a standard 4 speed manual. The car has also been rustproofed where work has been carried out on the most part. The phrase “partially restored” seems appropriate for this 2002 as it clearly will need a lot of work to get up and running but all the work undertaken has been done properly, and the car has been stored in a heated workshop. Most of the problem areas on the RH side have been replaced with parts from Jaymic and there are some spares included, particularly the parts for the LH side and a new boot floor panel. Any parts removed for refitting have been labelled to avoid confusion and the owner has photos and documents available for the restoration process so far, although there is no service history. x2 2002's Tii's one is a Lux registered 22/08/75 and second 'donor' car a std 2002 registered on a K plate. I have been restoring the lux and have nearly finished the bodywork with only the rear inner wheel arches to be welded into place. New sills and rotten sections have been fully welded.

I am going to lose my workshop/shed, where they are both kept and unfortunately will need to sell/move them on. I obviously have two complete sets of parts and would be prepared to sell the Tii Lux as one complete machine and possibly sell of parts from the 'donor'. 2002 Tii Baur cabriolet, 1975 original British racing green. This is a unique car - it has the Tii fuel injection combined with being a cabriolet. A very hard to find combination. 2000 Touring 1973, white 2 door with original mileage 83000. The car runs brilliantly and has had a lot of work done to it.
